32L. Office size.
Compression straps pull it flat. Laptop, tablet, cables, water bottle, lunch. It reads as a work backpack because it is one, and it stands upright on its own when you set it down.

EVERKI ONE is both. One zip takes it from a 32L work backpack to a 38L, carry-on sized travel pack. Built by the team behind 2 million bags.
The backpack, the daypack and the hip belt. Everything you need for a trip, in one order.

The System is $70 more than the bag alone and adds $100 of gear. That is the whole argument.
Why trust a new backpack
EVERKI has been making laptop and travel bags since 2005. One category, no detours. EVERKI ONE is what twenty years of that work turns into when you stop compromising.
The two-bag problem
The work backpack holds a laptop and a lunch. Add three days of clothes and it splits at the seams. The travel bag swallows a week of packing and looks ridiculous in a meeting.
So you carry both, or you pick one and put up with it. Neither is a plan.
EVERKI ONE solves it with one zip. Compact for the commute, expanded for the trip, same bag, same shoulders.
The mechanism
The expansion runs the full depth of the main compartment, from 7.8 inches collapsed to 11 inches open. It is not a token gusset on a side panel.
Compression straps pull it flat. Laptop, tablet, cables, water bottle, lunch. It reads as a work backpack because it is one, and it stands upright on its own when you set it down.
Open the expansion and the main compartment lies flat at 180 degrees, like a suitcase. Pack it on the bed, zip it shut, put it on your back. Enough for a one to three day trip without a second bag.

Why the System
The L-Cube is a packing cube on the way out and a daypack at the other end. It holds your clothes inside the main compartment, then comes out as the bag you actually walk around the city with, so the big bag stays at the hotel.
The hip belt with pouch moves the load off your shoulders on the long walks, and puts your phone and passport where you can reach them without taking anything off.
Bought separately after the fact, those two are $50 each. In the System right now they cost you $70 together, and you are not paying shipping twice.

Airport math
Collapsed, EVERKI ONE measures 19.5 x 13.7 x 7.8 inches. The standard US major-carrier carry-on limit is 22 x 14 x 9 inches including wheels and handles. It fits inside that, with width as the tightest axis.
Fly it collapsed, expand it at the hotel. Expanded mode is 11 inches deep, so it is a checked or stowed configuration, not a gate-side one. We would rather tell you that now than have you find out at boarding.
Organisation
Nothing here exists to pad a spec sheet. Every pocket answers a thing that annoyed us on a trip.
A hardshell pocket for sunglasses, phone and AirPods. Sit on the bag and they survive it.
Fits a 16-inch laptop and a 13.3-inch tablet. Both pockets are felt-lined. The laptop is held by an elastic strap, not velcro. There is not a single piece of velcro in this bag.
Expandable 32 to 38L with two large interior mesh pockets and a roll-up mesh divider that stows out of the way for daily use.
Key holder with an extra clip loop, mesh pocket, a hidden AirTag pocket and the integrated rain cover stash.
Boarding pass, passport, the thing you need in four seconds at security.
Bottles up to 1L, held by an elastic strap so tall bottles stay put. Zip them shut and nothing falls out on the train.
Slides over a roller handle, and hides an RFID-protected pocket inside for cards and passport.
Build
Zippers, straps and fabric are what kill a backpack. Here is exactly what we did about each one.
Water-resistant, non-coated zippers. Coated zippers shed their coating and stiffen. These do not, so they stay smooth. The main compartment runs extra-large #10 zippers.
Reinforced shoulder straps, load-tested individually and together. Load lifters at the top, a padded back panel with air channels, and strap clamps that keep the loose ends tidy.
840x840D recycled polyester outer with a burnt orange 150D recycled lining, so you can actually see what is in the bag. Integrated rain cover included.
The part that removes the risk
Register the bag and it is covered for manufacturing defects for as long as you own it. That is not a marketing line, it is the same warranty that has been on every EVERKI bag for two decades, and it is the reason we can be this stubborn about zippers and straps.

Before you order
End of September. Orders leave our US warehouse in ship order, so the earlier you order the earlier you are in the queue. If anything moves that date we email every pre-order customer before the money is taken, and you can cancel on the spot.
When your bag ships at the end of September, not today. Placing the pre-order authorises your card. We take the payment at the moment we hand the parcel to the carrier.
Until the pre-order window closes, which is when the bags ship at the end of September. After that the Complete System is $295 and the backpack on its own is $195. Those are the regular prices, not an invented comparison, and they are what you will pay if you come back later.
Three things: the EVERKI ONE backpack, the L-Cube daypack, and the hip belt with pouch. It is not a bigger bag or a different bag, it is the same backpack plus the two accessories most people end up buying anyway. Separately those accessories are $50 each. All three ship together in one box.
Yes. Any time before it ships at the end of September, at no cost, because nothing has been charged yet. Email us and the order is cancelled. Once it arrives you still have 30 days to return it unused in its original packaging, and returns are free on orders over $75.
In compact mode, yes. At 19.5 x 13.7 x 7.8 inches it sits inside the standard US major-carrier ceiling of 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Expanded mode is 11 inches deep and exceeds that, so expand it after you land. No airline approves a bag, so treat this as a size fact and check your own carrier.
No, and we will not claim it is. The zippers are water-resistant and non-coated, and an integrated rain cover is built into the front organiser for real weather.
Up to 16 inches, with a maximum device size of 15.4 x 10.8 x 1 inch. The sleeve floats off the bottom of the bag and is felt-lined, so a drop onto a hard floor does not land on your machine.
Manufacturing defects, for as long as you own the bag. It is registration-driven, so register the bag after it arrives. Wear from normal use and damage from misuse are not covered.
